Our Craft

At Envelope we know what we’re on about.

We know civil and structural engineering, surveying, land development and subdivision project management. We know that no two jobs are the same, so we don’t do ‘one size fits all’.

We get a buzz out of hearing about your projects. Your mahi. Your goals. You’re good at what you do. We’re good at what we do. Let’s work together.

At Envelope we offer a tailored approach to your project, from a small residential build to a 1000 lot subdivision, and everything in between. We have the specialist experience you need, and a commitment to offering smart and cost-effective solutions. We have people based across the country, who can work in seamlessly with your team to get results.

Envelope was formed in 2015, and everyone from the top down is part of a team which revels in fresh thinking and subscribes to a work hard, play hard philosophy.

We are genuinely thrilled to achieve the results we do. To take your hard work and combine it with our know-how and ingenuity and bring it home. Because while we’re young at heart, we’ve also been around the block.

So yes, at Envelope we know what we’re on about.

Civil

At Envelope, our civil team relish their work as directors in nature.

We deal with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment. This includes, but is not limited to, earthworks design, erosion and sediment control projects, water supply, stormwater, and wastewater drainage, and roading.

We think logically, but we’re not scared to think outside the box to produce buildable, smart and cost-effective designs which will get your project noticed for all the right reasons.

We're here to help you understand the opportunities and constraints associated with any land purchase or development.

We can help review and scope the development potential of your land by undertaking feasibility investigations, assessing development constraints and opportunities, risk assessments, and providing advice on development costings.

Our team can also prepare concept design plans to help illustrate how your land could be developed.

Keeping a steady beat for the team of ‘rock stars’ since he started Envelope in 2015, working from a former Wellington egg factory, is Alan Blyde.

Envelope Director Alan heads up the civil engineering team and is proud to be at the helm of a team which is diverse, creative, and hardworking.

Strong networks and client relationships, with some working with Envelope from day one, are something Alan takes pride in.

Structural

With one whose great uncle designed the roller coaster at Rainbow’s End theme park, and another who was ‘hands on’ from the start with two grandfathers in the business of building, structural engineering is in the blood for our team.

This is fitting since structural engineers are trained to design the ‘bones and muscles’ which create the form and shape of man-made structures. So, they’re a bit like surgeons, and at Envelope we like to feel we are operating on the curves and lines of buildings.

We provide innovative, cost-effective structural engineering solutions which are practical and meet, and often exceed, our clients’ needs.

Our structural team is headed by Andrew Thompson who has more than 25 years experience in the industry, leading a team of engineers and technicians to provide smart solutions on time and within budget.

He says Envelope is built on respect, and that its people want to get the best out of themselves and others in their team. That is where their strength lies, with strong team dynamics and creative, ambitious thinking encouraged.

Survey

Passion for community, education and surveying. New Zealander Archibald ‘Archie’ Bogle was committed to all of these, constantly working to extend knowledge and explore new territory for the surveying profession. A poet, scholar, soldier and family man, Archie poured time and energy into everything he did.

And our survey crew are great explorers too.

They pride themselves on utilising the newest technology to push the limits on what is possible. They provide expert land titling advice at the outset of projects and have full capability for undertaking topographical surveys, land transfer surveys (fee simple and unit title subdivisions), construction set-out,  UAV surveys and 3D laser scanning.

Our Licensed Cadastral Surveyors are qualified to provide all the required surveying certifications for Council and LINZ requirements for subdivision and building siting.

The team work closely with clients and contractors to provide tailored, precise information for any project.

Erin Cameron is Director of our survey team, and she loves an opportunity to get 'back on the tools' and use technology to up efficiency and galvanise our survey crew.  With the recent growth of our survey crew in Auckland and the Bay of Plenty offices, our tools stay sharp with the latest technology and 3D scanning capabilities enabling cutting edge deliverables.

Geospatial Solutions

We're experienced in managing and providing the full suite of services to manage the development of land. Geographic Information System (GIS) enables our engineers to create, manage, analyse, and visualize spatial data effectively, enhancing decision-making throughout the project life cycle.

Our team work to understand the land and the environment. By visualizing complex data on maps, our geospatial capabilities enable our engineers to assess terrain, analyse land use and model flood risk.

We possess the capability to craft interactive web maps and applications that facilitate collaborative data management, enabling dynamic updates and online hosting for seamless sharing.

We think logically and aren't scared to think outside the box to produce dynamic, smart, and effective engineering solutions that will get your project noticed for all the right reasons.

Our geospatial services include:

· Geospatial Analysis

· Development of digital twin models

· Creating interactive web maps for online access

· Management of GDB (geodatabase) and cartography information

· Generation of cartography in 3D with texture

· Topology correction

· Analysis of networks

· Information integration with CAD and 3D modelling.

· Hydrology analysis and flood risk simulation maps

· Deforestation and Afforestation analysis maps

· Signal analysis of telecommunication antenna in 3D

· Generation of density maps
